William LawrenceD

The tea ☕

  • Republicans keep pointing to a 2020 tweet where Lawrence called for defunding the police. He says his views changed and now backs police funding.
  • Before the primary, Lawrence's old posts calling Kamala Harris despicable and calling Black political leaders a pillar of the establishment drew fire. The Congressional Black Caucus PAC called him a national disgrace. He said the words were taken out of context and he regrets them.
  • The Bulwark reported that a conservative group secretly boosted Lawrence in the Democratic primary, and questioned whether the Green Party candidate is a Republican plant. No outcome was reported.
