- A New York Post story said Pulido had played shows with an accordion player who was a convicted sex offender. Pulido said he did not know about the crime, and his management said the man was fired in 2021. De La Cruz said Pulido was caught on tape admitting he knew.
- De La Cruz called Pulido a 'quinceanera act' on social media. Pulido took the jab and said he would love invitations to quinceaneras in South Texas.
- Republicans dug up old Pulido posts with crude jokes, plus a 2010 music video where he played a 'pervert.' Pulido said the video was a parody and called the attacks cheap.
