- Gonzalez paid for a billboard in Brownsville showing Flores with Trump under the words 'Support ICE!' Flores sent a cease-and-desist letter saying the ad misused his image.
- Texas Republicans redrew this district in 2025 to help the GOP win it. A court blocked the map, but the Supreme Court let Texas use it for 2026. More than $30 million has been spent on the race.
