- Democrat Maureen Galindo finished first in the March primary. Then she posted about turning an ICE jail into a prison for 'American Zionists.' Top Democrats called it antisemitic and rallied behind Garcia, who beat her in the May runoff.
- This seat used to belong to Democrat Greg Casar. Texas Republicans redrew it in 2025 to lean Republican, and Casar moved to a new district. Neither nominee has held office before.
