The tea ☕

  • The New York Times reported that Marshall's medical practice charged 18% interest on unpaid bills, sued more than 700 patients, and that at least 81 people were arrested for missing court dates. Marshall called the report a hit job and said he gave free care.
  • Hamilton ran an ad with a woman who says she was arrested while eight months pregnant over a $50 payment to Marshall's practice. Marshall's lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter calling the ad defamatory. Hamilton kept the ad up.
  • Marshall ran a $1.2 million ad calling Hamilton a 'pedophile protector.' In 2005 two boys at a church camp said a volunteer touched them. The church's own probe found nothing and let him come back. Hamilton says it was a mistake not to call police right away but denies any cover-up. The man was later convicted of a misdemeanor.
  • A watchdog group asked the Senate Ethics Committee on October 22 to investigate Marshall. A news probe found texts and recordings that experts say show his Senate staff did campaign work on taxpayer time. Marshall's office denies wrongdoing.
  • The Kansas Republican Party filed a complaint saying Hamilton used church staff and email to announce his run. The church said it was normal news-sharing. No ruling has been reported.
  • On January 6, 2021, Marshall objected to counting electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania. The Senate rejected the objections 93 to 6.
  • Marshall did not pay a bakery's $678.75 bill from 2020. He paid it in 2026 after the story went viral.
  • At the October 21 debate, Marshall said Hamilton was 'funded by Chuck Schumer.' Hamilton said he would not vote for Schumer as leader.
