The tea ☕

  • A police report from 1988 says Jackson, then 19, punched a man during a fight. Jackson admits the fight but denies ever being violent toward his partner, and she says the same. No charges were reported.
  • A Republican super PAC ran a radio song calling Jackson a 'creep' and a 'freak' over his family. Collins asked for the ad to be pulled on October 21. Jackson's partner wrote an op-ed saying her family deserved respect.
  • At the final debate on October 15, a protester yelled while Collins spoke. She said he was 'obviously one of Troy's supporters.' Jackson shot back, 'Oh, shut up. I don't even know that kid.' The protester was a college student with no link to Jackson.
  • Former colleagues have criticized Jackson's temper. He has apologized before for confrontations during his time in the Maine Legislature.
  • Collins voted to confirm Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018 and said he told her Roe v. Wade was settled law. He later voted to overturn Roe. Collins says she does not regret her vote.
  • In 1996 Collins pledged to serve only two terms. She is now running for a sixth term.
  • A Republican super PAC ad claimed Jackson struck a female colleague. The Bangor Daily News reported that claim was false.
