The tea ☕

  • A Republican super PAC ad calls Pappas a liar. In a 2020 debate he denied dating an Amazon lobbyist while voting on bills Amazon lobbied on, then admitted it afterward. He said it did not affect his votes. They later married.
  • Pappas says Sununu 'led efforts to privatize Social Security.' PolitiFact rated it Mostly True: Sununu co-sponsored several bills from 2000 to 2005 for voluntary private accounts, but none got a floor vote. At the October 28 debate Sununu called the claim dishonest.
  • At that debate Pappas said Sununu's net worth grew to about $35 million after leaving the Senate. Sununu said he is not worth that much. NHPR reported his latest disclosure lists holdings worth up to $36 million, mostly Boston Scientific stock.
  • Sununu skipped an October 29 NHPR debate, saying it was a schedule issue. Pappas's campaign called it a 'duck-and-cover strategy.' Sununu's campaign pointed out that Pappas had skipped a different debate.
  • Sununu points to Pappas voting 'present' on some bills and calls him a do-nothing congressman. Pappas notes the Lugar Center ranked him the most bipartisan House Democrat in 2023.
  • Pappas was one of 46 House Democrats who voted for the Laken Riley Act in 2025, which drew criticism from his own party.
  • Sununu has Trump's endorsement but listed his disagreements with Trump at the debate, including the Canada trade war and the Iran war. Pappas says the race is 'Team New Hampshire v. Team Trump.'
